Camp Moshava is pleased to announce that Avi Roth has accepted the position of Interim Director for summer 2010.  Roth, who received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Yeshiva University and a Masters in Education from the Teachers College at Columbia University, will be rejoining the Moshava staff this summer having formerly served as a madrich as well as Rosh Moshava.  Roth has previously served as a Head Counselor for the Mach Hach Ba’Aretz program in Israel as well as the Director of Youth and Education at the Baron Hirsch Congregation in Memphis, TN (including its summer program, Camp Darom).

Following his time in Memphis, Roth moved to New York where he served as Director of Operations at Empowered Learning Resources in Cedarhurst for three years.  In 2002, Roth founded the Spark Development Center in Lynbrook, NY.   The Center is a multi-disciplinary educational approach encompassing the areas of Preparation, Sensory Integration, Cognitive Processing and Brain-based learning Theory in order to form a better foundation of efficient and effective learning.  At the Center, Roth also directed workshops and programs for parents, professionals and school administrators on a variety of educational issues.  More about Avi can be read on the Tzevet Bios page of our website.
